Rooney, 25, whose first outing in a United shirt since the transplant is set to be the pre-season friendly against New England Revolution in Boston on July 13, admits that the operation is a painful process. He said on Twitter: “Hi all there’s my head. It will take a few months to grow. Still a bit bloody to. But that’s all normal. #hairwego”
Meanwhile, United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has insisted the club are determined to win their 20th league title next season after winning a historic 19th last month.
“It’s a great feat winning this league,” Ferguson said. “It was Liverpool’s time in the Eighties, it’s our time now. But there’s a responsibility as the manager of Manchester United and it doesn’t go away. The only thing you can do at this club is win — that’s all that matters.”
Shinji Kagawa, Borussia Dortmund’s Japanese midfielder, claims he is interested in a move to United following reports in Japan that the club have renewed their interest in him.
